Slow Cooker Hot Wings

  • Cooking Time:

    5 hours
  • Servings:

    4

Ingredients

2 lbs. of chicken wings
1 bottle of Frank's Red Hot Sauce (12 oz)
1 bottle of Italian Salad Dressing (12 oz)
2 T unsalted butter, melted
celery & carrots to garnish
blue cheese or ranch dressing for dipping

You will love how easy it is to make these Slow Cooker Hot Wings.  I always make these for family get-togethers as people can just grab a few from the crock as needed and they are always hot.  Enjoy!

  1. Salt and Pepper wings and broil in oven for 5 mins (you can skip this is you’re in a pinch, but this will give them a little crispness)
  2. Place wings in the slow cooker and top with hot sauce, butter, and Italian dressing.
  3. Cover and crock on low for 4-5 hours, or high heat setting for 2-2 1/2 hours.
  4. Serve immediately or keep on warm setting for up to 2 hours.

Serving Suggestions:  If desired, serve with Ranch/Blue Cheese dressing, carrots, and celery.

Note: Use equal parts Italian Dressing and Frank’s Red Hot.  This Recipe can be doubled/tripled, just make sure you increase the sauce as needed to ensure wings are covered in sauce when cooking.

Made these last night and they were DE-LISH!!! I used boneless/skinless chicken breast and cut them into thirds or fourths, depending on how big they were…i also browned the chicken first before placing in the crockpot. It was a HIT at the Jones’ house last night!

Preparation was extremely simple and I liked the fact there weren’t too many ingrediates you needed to prepare. The flavoring was delicious and very flavorful. the only thing I need to learn how to tweak is how to make the wings crispier! Then this will be a perfect reicipe!

Thanks for sharing!

I’d try cooking them in the crockpot “without broiling them first”. When they’re done transfer them to a cookie sheet and broiling them for 5 minutes turning them half way through. Hope this helps Julie !

We loved the flavor! I did broil afterwards to add crispiness. Will probably try chicken breasts next time instead. Thanks for the recipe!

What is causing the sodium to be so high? I understand these would be an occassional thing since the calroies are crazy high (and wings are) but what can be done to lower the sodium?

Stupid question but I never made wings before. Do I leave the skin on?
