Slow Cooker Five Layer Brownie

  • Cooking Time:

    2 hours
  • Servings:

    10

Ingredients

16 oz. brownie mix, any package
1/4 c. melted butter
1 egg
1/4 c. water
12 oz. sweetened condensed milk
1/4 c. walnuts
1/4 c. coconut
1/4 c. oats, old fashioned, can add Gluten free oats

OH BOY! These Slow Cooker Five Layer Brownies are rich, and so delicious! A MUST MAKE!

  1. This recipe is great to make in a 2 quart crock!
  2. Place the butter in the bottom of the crock to melt the butter while you mix the following ingredients.
  3. Mix the egg, brownie mix, with 1/4 c. of water.
  4. Stir into melted butter until none of the powder is left dry; batter will be quite thick
  5. Pour can of sweetened condensed milk over the top.
  6. Spread layer of oats over the milk, then coconut, then walnuts.
  7. Cover. Cook on High if using a small slow cooker, or on Low if using a larger slow cooker than the 2 qt.

Tip: Test with a knife after 1 hours. If it comes out clean, cook for another 20-30 minutes with the lid off to get rid of the condensation and to help solidify the condensed milk. A good tip is you will know when it is done when the edges pull away from your crock.

NOTE: If you use the 1 qt. crock pot it is likely it will cook for a very long time, as long as 4 hours.

Are the nutrition facts on this correct? Are there 4,375 calories per serving?! Surely this is a mistake.

What would make a good substitute for the coconut & the walnuts? I’m allergic to both.

If I decided to do this in the oven instead of the crock pot, would I just bake it at 350 for 45 min or so???

I’m making it and would like to know, if
After the 2hrs. of cooking time your knife

Come out clean, should u cover it back up
And continue cooking or take the cover off
And continue cooking for 20-30 minutes?

It’s in the crocky…..I’m looking so forward to it. The walnuts drowned in the milk……I dind’t have enough and no time to get some …..I added some ‘almond slices’ . So it won’t be able to look as great as yours but I hope it will be yummi.
All the best, Alice

🙁 After 5 hours I quit……..it was already time for dinner.

So the afternoon snack didn´t work…..I have no idea what went wrong but the brownie mixture was still looking like in the beginning. The only difference was that is was hot.

So sad……..maybe I´ll give it another try as soon as I have a clue what I could do different.

This looks amazing, and I love trying new desserts! How can I measure the size of my crock, though? I never have, and I’m at a loss.
