Slow Cooker German Goulash

  • Cooking Time:

    7-8 hours on LOW
  • Servings:

    7-8

Ingredients

2 lb. Lean Beef Stew Meat, cut in1.5" cubes
2 Large Yellow Onions, diced
2 Large Carrots, peeled and chopped
4 Medium Potatoes, peeled and diced
14.5 oz. Whole Peeled Tomatoes
1 T. Tomato Paste
1 T. Parsley
1 T. Thyme
2 T. Smoked paprika
1 T. Garlic powder
1 c. Dry Red Wine
Salt & Pepper to taste
Sour Cream, for garnish
German Noodles

We love comfort food, and Slow Cooker German Goulash is just that! Served with a delightful salad, and warm bread and your meal is ready.

  1. Place the potatoes in the bottom of slow cooker, then meat, carrots, onion, tomatoes and paste on top.
  2. Top with herbs and spices.
  3. Pour wine around the sides so as to keep spices on top.
  4. Cover. Cook on Low for 7-8 hours.

Serve with Sour Cream and German noodles.

Hello, is 1 Tablespoon tomato puree the correct measurement? In the directions it calls for tomato sauce.

Well. I am german. And I don’t like it cooked in wine. What gives a very nice and delicious taste is crocking it in malt beer. Try it! ♥

That makes me happy! And I have to admit that it´s often cooked with wine or even more often with beef broth here, but the malt beer version is really worth a try. ♥

Hi, I’m still confused. Is t 1 t of sauce or purée. Maybe it’s paste???

Hi I made it last night but cause I couldn’t find the German noodles any where I used Hokkien noodles instead it tasted really nice the family loved it to.
