Slow Cooker Tangy Barbecue Sandwiches

    6–7 hours
  • Servings:



3 c. chopped cel­ery
1 c. chopped onions
1 c. ketchup
1 c. bar­be­cue sauce
1 c. water
2 T. vine­gar
2 T. worces­ter­shire sauce
2 T. brown sug­ar
1 tsp. chile pow­der
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pep­per
1/2 tsp. gar­lic pow­der
3 — 4 lb. bone­less chuck roast
14–18 ham­burg­er buns

Slow Cook­er “Tangy” Bar­be­cue Sand­wich­es, are per­fect for game days!

  1. Com­bine all ingre­di­ents EXCEPT roast and buns in slow cook­er.
  2. When well mixed, add roast.
  3. Cov­er. Cook on High 6–7 hours.
  4. Remove meat. Cool and shred meat. Return to sauce. Heat well.

Serve on buns!

Very good and fill­ing. My fiance loved it! While let­ting the beef rest, if you turn the crock pot to off you can let the fat come to the top and you can skim it off. I also added some cumin and some cayenne pep­per.

I served this tonight for a group and we all loved it. I topped the sand­wich­es with coleslaw and it real­ly com­pli­ment­ed the fla­vor. I also mixed every­thing the night before and seared the chuck roast in hot oil and let it mar­i­nate overnight so all I had to do was take it out and turn on the crock pot in the morn­ing. It made for a very easy day today. Loved it. Thanks!
