Slow Cooker Steel Cut Oats Oatmeal

Ingredients

1 c. steel cut oats
1 c. dried cranberries
1 c. dates, chopped
4 c. water
1/2 c. half and half
2 T. honey

Slow Cook­er Steel Cut Oats Oat­meal is Healthy and you can put any­thing in it that you know your fam­i­ly will enjoy!

  1. Spray inside of slow cook­er with non­stick cook­ing spray.
  2. Com­bine all ingre­di­ents EXCEPT half and half and hon­ey in the slow cook­er.
  3. Cov­er. Cook on Low for 7 to 8 hours.
  4. Stir in half and half and hon­ey, and stir well before serv­ing.

You can also sprin­kle with cin­na­mon and a lit­tle maple syrup on top.… YUMMY!

OPTIONAL: If you like more tex­ture in your oat­meal, you can toast the oats before cook­ing. Place them in a shal­low lay­er on a cook­ie sheet and toast them at 350 degrees F. for 15–20 min­utes, stir­ring once dur­ing cook­ing time, until oats are a dark­er in col­or. Let cool com­plete­ly before you com­bine with the rest of the ingre­di­ents in the recipe.
