Our family does this with tomato soup. Lots of butter. Soften the leaves of cabbage in some booking water they are easier to wrap. My dad’s favorite. Called pigs in the blanket.

We have been eating this for years, but we blanch the cabbage leaves for ease of wrapping and, like Dina, we use tomato soup. We also sneak in grated carrot and zucchini. The kids love it

What about the rice? Do you add it to the meat mixture or lay the cabbage rolls on top of rice?

It’s and old polish recipie. And its cold pigeons. Cabbage leaves are boild for few mins to seften them up. Makes it easier to roll them up. Meat is raw and cooked rice is added to meat mixture. Hope it helps ye girls 🙂

Let me just say this. I just tasted cabbage rolls for the first time last year and fell in love. I make them on a regular basis now and I am making them today, as a matter of fact. I came here to see how long I should cook them in the crock pot. I have seen them many times and heard people talk about them.
