Slow Cooker Pumpkin Bisque

    4–5 hours
  • Servings:

    4

Ingredients

30 oz. pump­kin, pie mix­ture, canned
15 oz. pump­kin, canned
28 oz. chick­en broth
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. white pep­per
3/4 tsp. ground gin­ger
1 c. half and half
sour cream (option­al gar­nish)

If you love every­thing Pump­kin, you will love Slow Cook­er Pump­kin Bisque. Deli­cious and great to serve as a starter for the Hol­i­days, or even just for lunch!

  1. In a 4 quart slow cook­er, com­bine all ingre­di­ents EXCEPT half-and-half.
  2. Cov­er. Cook on Low for 4 — 5 hours.
  3. Stir in half-and-half.
  4. Cov­er. Cook for an addi­tion­al 15 min­utes.

To serve: You may want to serve your bisque with a dol­lop of sour cream.

what is pump­kin pie mix­ture? how is it dif­fer­ent from canned organ­ic pumpkin?please explain… thanks

In the pic you have for this soup it looks like there are chopped onions or pota­toes? It looks chunky. But the ingre­di­ent list doesn’t have any­thing that would be chunky?? The soup in the pic­ture is prefer­able to me…do you have that recipe or addi­tion?

Made this for my hus­band and I and then made it again for the fam­i­ly for Christ­mas din­ner. What a nice way to start our meal. The one batch made more then enough for the five of us for Christ­mas day and I even left about as much as we ate with the fam­i­ly. I will be mak­ing this again and again.
