**Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Pork

Slow Cooker Delicious Sweet and Sour Pork

    8 hours on Low or 4 hours on High

20 oz. pineap­ple chunks, packed in juice
2 car­rots, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 onion, large, sliced into thin wedges
1 bell pep­per, red, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 lb. pork loin, bone­less, cut into 1-inch pieces
3 T. packed brown sug­ar
2 T. rice vine­gar
2 T. toma­to paste
2 T. tapi­o­ca, quick-cook­ing, crushed
1 T. soy sauce, low-sodi­um
3 gar­lic cloves, minced
1 tsp. minced fresh gin­ger
1 tsp. kosher salt
1/2 tsp. sesame oil
Gar­nish with green onions, option­al

When you are look­ing for a Deli­cious recipe, you must make Slow Cook­er Deli­cious Sweet and Sour Pork. The pineap­ple mixed wth all the spices is sim­ply devine!

  1. Drain pineap­ple chunks and reserve juice.
  2. Refrig­er­ate pineap­ple chunks until ready to use.
  3. In a 4 quart slow cook­er, com­bine car­rot, onion, red bell pep­per, and pork.
  4. In a bowl, stir togeth­er the reserved pineap­ple juice, brown sug­ar, rice vine­gar, toma­to paste, tapi­o­ca, soy sauce, gar­lic, gin­ger, salt, and sesame oil.
  5. Pour over the veg­eta­bles and pork.
  6. Cov­er. Cook on Low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
  7. Stir in reserved pineap­ple chunks.
  8. Taste for sea­son­ing, adding addi­tion­al salt if need­ed.

NOTE: I used both red and green pep­pers for added col­or.

Great served over rice or noo­dles, along side steamed broc­coli. YUM!

Hi… This recipe sounds deli­cious! Since I’m a Jew, keep kosher, do you know if this would work with chick­en or beef?


That pork in the pic­ture looks fried, there is noth­ing in the direc­tions stat­ing to fry the pork. is that pic­ture dif­fer­ent than the recipe?


i like my veg­gies a bit crunchy would it be ok to add them in a hour before it is cooked


I’m sure this is a weird ques­tion, but I only have a 5qt slow cook­er, and the recipe states I should use a 4qt. Will I get sim­i­lar results with my 5qt?


How do you crushed tapi­o­ca ?


A mor­tar & pes­tle would work to crush tapi­o­ca. A cof­fee grinder would also do it.


It looks like there are green onions in the pic­ture, but I don’t see green onions in the ingre­di­ents…? Is the pic­ture a true reflec­tion of what this should look like?


Mine turned out very soupy…more like a stew. It looks noth­ing like the pic­ture : (
