Have you tried this without the chicken? Is it just like a stew?
I have this in the crock pot right now and my house smells amazing! 😀 Can’t wait to try it tonight.
Good and savory. I added a total of 5 garlic cloves and a shake or two of herbs de provence. also used 2 parsnips and 4 carrots and only three large red potatoes, and 3 large chicken breasts. good for the four of us – 2 adults and 2 kids, and a little for lunch for me the next day.
It’s a lot of left over juice. and my boys (7 and nearly 10) liked it well enough.
Made this for the first time and followed directions. Was very bland, even seasoned the chicken breasts beforehand with salt and pepper. Ended up turning recipe into Chicken Vegetable Soup by pulling apart the cooked chicken breasts after 6.5hrs and added a few chicken bouillon cubes to existing broth. Simmered on high with the vegetables for another hour and a half- very tasty and perfect meal on a cold, snowy New England day.
I can’t seem to find how long to cook can someone please tell me the answer?
