Hi Mary, There is no salt in this recipe. I have corrected the recipe and certainly appreciate your question. Thank you again, Happy Crocking!
Hi! For the milk (any variety), does that also include almond milk? I’m lactose-intolerant and trying to make some mods. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Do you think it will be possible to make this without eggs?
Brandy I have not, but you may want to use egg substitute. If you do, please let us know how it turned out. 🙂
I have always served my tapioca with freshly grated nutmeg! Enjoy!
Have you ever used the large tapioca in the crockpot?
I have not, but if you make it this way, would love to hear back from you. Enjoy and Happy Crocking!
Would it be possible to use a sugar substitute
Yes Tracie, make this recipe your own and make changes that fit your needs and/or your family needs. Happy Crocking!
1/4 t. salt.
I am not much of a cook but want to try this recipe. I was wondering can this be frozen?
Brenda you can freeze this recipe, but you will need to use it in a few months, as well as use a good container, as it will easily freezer burn. I always date anything I freeze, as I do not like it in the freezer for more than 3 months. Just a personal preference. 🙂 Happy Crocking!
I like to serve this with some cold crushed pineapple folded in.
or a good jam, my mother allowed us to do that with rice pudding, ohhh memories
do you have a recipe for rice pudding, I cannot make over rice pud like my mother used to make, so thought I could try in crock pot, hers was always so creamy and yummy. thanks for your great suggestions, I am going to make tapioca pud today
The Tapioca is it the measurement using the pre soaked tapioca, or is it raw straight from the bag.
Hi Sheryl, thanks for the question. Although I’m not an expert on tapioca, it is my understanding that all tapioca is pre-soaked and cooked to an extent. For instance the small pearl which is requested in this recipe… The small pearl I bought was used straight from the box. So I guess it could depend on the region where you live as how you can buy your tapioca. Hope the helps and Happy Crocking!
Absolutely have no idea how much 160 gms is…PLEASE use standard measurements…like 1/2 cup…etc.
Hi Ferne you will find the serving size on the upper right hand side of each page, the nutrition calculator I use just changes it into grams! Hope this helps! Happy Crocking! 🙂
How much salt goes into the tapioca receipe
It doesn’t really call for salt, but if you’d like to add a pinch you certainly can. Happy Crocking!
I cooked mine on low for 3 hours and that was definitely long enough!!!
