I just love the simplicity of this recipe!  Slow Cooker Maple Brown Sugar Ham is great for a large Holiday get-together.  Serve with a casserole or two, and a roasted veggie, and you have a superb complete meal for a crowd!

  1. Place ham in a large slow cooker.
  2. Thoroughly rub the brown sugar all over the ham, getting all sides.
  3. Next, whisk pineapple juice, cloves and maple syrup together in medium bowl; pour over the entire ham.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours.
  5. After 4 hours, flip the ham in the slow cooker and cook one additional hour.  Carefully remove ham from slow cooker and rest for 15 minutes before carving. (You may move sliced ham back to the slow cooker.  Keep it on warm and serve right form the slow cooker!)

NOTE:  Nutrition and serving size based on bone-in-style ham.
Happy Crocking!

What would you recommend using if someone was allergic to pineapple or had to stay away from citrus?

I have a huge ham and it will not fit into my largest crock pot. How do I do this in the oven?

Is the ham a pre-cooked or full-cooked ham OR a fresh ham, uncooked?

We served this for our Christmas dinner. It was absolutely wonderful. I didn’t have pineapple juice so I used a can of crushed pineapple and it worked well. The top of the ham was a little tall for my crock so we just sawed off the bone at the top so it would fit in the crock.

Are we talking real maple syrup or pancake syrup, maple flavored? Expensive purchase for half a cup…

-Do hams cooked with pineapple rings, chunks, juice, etc. taste like pineapple?

-I prefer recipes where nothing has to be done once they are in the crockpot, after all they are made to cook for long periods without attendance. How would you recommend doing this if one won’t be home after 4 hours to flip the ham over? Wanted to make tomorrow, but now don’t know if that will be possible because of the 1 hr. flipping. Thank you!
